My role
At RYUMA ESPORTS I was responsible for tech and broadcast, as Christian "Astro" Hollatz:
- Building the website and the technical infrastructure
- Running live broadcasts and casting matches
The website introduced the organization, its teams and staff, presented its partners and included a careers section with an online application form.
The organization
RYUMA ESPORTS was founded in April 2023 under the principle "No scams and no empty promises". The idea came up one evening between two flatmates who wanted to "do things differently, and do them properly": instead of working for other organizations, they built their own.
The focus was on an open, close-knit community, transparent processes and professional structures. The organization described itself as "young, fired up and uniquely professional, with just the right touch of comedy and humanity". The motto #FLYWITHRYU stood for rising together.
Goals and closure
The organization's competitive goals were:
- Promotion in the Prime League
- Developing young players through an academy team
- Coaching, analysis and structured team management
- Community events and tournaments
To get there, RYUMA relied on a mix of experienced players and up-and-coming talent. Although several goals were reached, the organization had to shut down in summer 2024 for financial reasons.

Broadcast and content

- Presence on Twitch, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok
- Community events and tournaments
- Live broadcasts and event coverage
Partners and community
RYUMA was supported by several partners:
- Content partner: an Austrian streamer who backed the organization out of conviction
- Community supporter: financial support with nothing expected in return
- Esports psychologist: mental support for teams and players
Members had weekly meetings with a say in decisions, media training and contacts both inside and outside esports.

Careers section
Through the website, people could apply for open positions, for example as a League of Legends coach. The role called for competitive coaching experience, a grasp of drafting fundamentals, strong communication, good time management and English skills.
Applications were submitted through online forms, and candidates were selected based on qualifications and team fit.
